Amazing nut and bolt restoration on a numbers matching factory Z/28! Detailed from top and body, this car shows magnificently well from all angles! With a delay in offering the next generation Camaro to the market, the 1969 model year carried its production into January of 1970. The newly styled Camaro finally hit dealer showrooms around February 1970, so this model year is often referred to as the 1970½ . Although Chevrolet still managed to produce nearly 125,000 Camaros to an eagerly awaiting public, only 8,733 were equipped with the powerful Z28 Special Performance Package! The Z28 Retail Production Order option granted buyers a completely new LT1 350ci V8 engine producing a mighty 360 horsepower and 380 ft. lbs. of torque! It also included a heavy duty radiator, bright engine accents, hood insulation; special suspension with front and rear sway bars, heavy duty front and rear springs; 15”x7” wheels with white letter tires, bright lug nuts, trim rings, and special center caps; blacked out grill, Z28 badging on all sides; dual exhaust; rear spoiler and sport stripes; special dash instrumentation with 150mph speedometer and tachometer! We are extremely pleased to offer this fully restored 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Z28! Finished in its original color of Citrus Green (code 43) over all new Black Vinyl interior (original code 723- Dark Green), and fitted with factory options that included power disc brakes, M21 4-speed Muncie transmission, 4.10:1 Posi-Transaction rear end, dual sport mirrors with driver remote, and front and rear spoilers. This car survived out of Arkansas possessing all its original sheet metal, with exception to the passenger rear quarter panel, and remained virtually rust free throughout! Most importantly, it maintained its original, numbers matching engine! This is a very difficult asset to find in any solid lifter Chevrolet these days! The engine was professionally rebuilt just 36 miles ago and is completely fresh from the inside out! The original block was bored .030 and fitted with original steel crank turned .010-.010, new TRW pistons with correct 11:1 compression, and the original GM solid lifter camshaft! The original double hump heads were also completely rebuilt with correct 202/160 valves, new springs, and guides all mated to the engine with stronger ARP head bolts! With all new gaskets & seals, correct GM hoses and tower clamps, belts, etc, it is perfectly presented for show, but also runs excellent!! The original 4:10 gear set was replaced with a more highway friendly 3.55:1 set in the rebuilt rear end, and the original Muncie M21 close-ratio transmission was shelved in place of a brand new Auto Gear Equipment 4-speed (exact style Muncie case) with M22 internals! It is built to very robust standards and provides super smooth shifts! The original transmission is available. Please inquiry for further details. The majority of the engine cast and stamp codes can be found below to review. Engine cast number: 3970010 Engine cast date: D 8 0- April 8th, 1970 Engine date stamp: V0413 CTB- April 13th build, 1970 Hi-Perf LT1 with 4-speed Engine VIN stamp: 10N541705 Heads: 3927186 Winters aluminum intake: 3972110 Rear end date: D 20 0: April 20th, 1970 Rear end code: C00 – 4:10:1 Posi-Traction This is quite an opportunity to find a Z28 Camaro this well restored and presented in such highly detailed fashion! The frame, driveline, suspension, and firewall markings are all present. The entire fuel and brake systems were rebuilt using stainless steel lines, new BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, all new exhaust with polished stainless steel Magnaflow mufflers, new Holley Performace carburetor, and HEI ignition with billet distributor now offer a bulletproof driveline that can be driven with confidence! The superb power, terrific exhaust note, and the gorgeous looks make this car a tremendous buy! Please call with any questions!
